DoD Operational Energy Strategy
June 22, 2011For the first time, the Department of Defense (DoD) is publishing a strategy to transform the way the Department consumes energy in military operations.
The DoD Operational Energy Strategy sets the overall direction for operational energy security for the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Combatant Commands, Defense Agencies, and Military Departments/Services.

The Department’s energy portfolio includes the energy used at military installations in the United States and overseas as well as the energy used by military forces in execution of their day-to-day missions. This strategy focuses on the latter.
